Mobile Magistrate directs ASP to probe corruption allegations against RDD officials

Jammu, Oct 14: In two different complaints filed by the people of block Padder, Additional Mobile Magistrate Kishtwar Munish K Manhas today directed Additional SP Kishtwar to conduct an inquiry into the allegations of corruption made by the people hailing from block Padder against the officials of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department.
The complainant alleged that there is a conspiracy between the officials and material suppliers to loot the government exchequer and the matter requires thorough investigation. Taking cognizance of the complaints, the judge issued two different orders with same contents stating that the instant complaint was filed by complainant who has stated the they are the job card holders under MGNREGA issued by the RDD and had executed the work on the ground as per the guidelines of MGNREGA and had utilized the material on their own.
The order further stated that the complainant claim that they were surprised that the accused persons withdraw the material cost payments against the stranger added that the learned counsel for the complainant has prayed for issuing order to conduct enquiry into the matter U/S 202 Cr. Pc, although in the complainant the Counsel of the petitioner has prayed for issuing directions U/S 156 (3) Cr. PC.The judge in his order also stated that the allegations leveled against the accused persons, who are government servants appears to be grave added that in his opinion enquiry U/S 202 Cr. Pc should be conducted into the matter so as to verify the facts of the allegations.
"Accordingly the Additional SP Kishtwar is hereby appointed as inquiry officer and is directed to conduct the enquiry into the matter as per law and submit the report to this court on next date of hearing by or before 30-10-2019" reads the order.
