Pollution control Board organizes Awareness workshop on Sanitary waste management

Jammu, Oct 15: An Awareness workshop on the topic " Sanitary Waste Management" was organised in GGM Sc. College by Jammu & Kashmir State Pollution Control Board in collaboration with Cluster University of Jammu and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala.
The workshop was organized under the supervision of vice principal Dr. Mohinder Singh. The Programme was coordinated by the Women's Study Centre of the college under the able supervision of Dr. Vandana Khajuria (Convenor) and NCC ANO Dr. (Capt) Anjana Sharma. Dr. Nazia Rasool from Cluster University of Jammu introduced the concept of reusable Pads to the students.
Anuradha, Scientist from JKSPCB introduced the product 'Saukhyam' and encouraged the students to make the switch from disposable to reusable sanitary Pads. The resource person for the workshop Anju Bist from the said Math sensitised the students regarding the use of reusable sanitary pads and highlighted the harmful effects not just for our health but also the environment. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Preeti Dogra.
