Punjabi Lekhak Sabha releases Punjabi satire collection

Jammu, Oct 15: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu organized a literary programme at K L Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy, Jammu on Monday to release Punjabi satire book titled Danda Ooncha Rahe Hamara written by Dr. Monojit, a well known Punjabi satire writer of J&K state.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages presided over the programme where Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD, Punjabi Department of University of Jammu was the chief guest, Prof. Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu was the guest of honour and noted Punjabi short story writer Khalid Hussain was the special guest. Dr. Monojit and Dr. Baljit Raina shared the dais. Intellectuals, writers and theatre artists attended the programme.
Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, former President PLSJ welcomed the guests. He told that the released book contains twelve satire pieces. He reminded again that the Punjabi Satire work of Dr. Monojit needed to the included in the programmes like Prasar Bharti's lecture programme 'Jammu Ka Hasya - Vyangya Lekhan' recently organized at K L Saigal Hall.
Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi and Smt. Chanpreet Kaur, Research Scholar at Department of Punjabi, JU read out their critical evaluation papers giving emphasis on the contribution of Dr. Monojit in the field of satire and viewpoint of his satire.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that the contribution of Dr. Monojit in the field of Punjabi satire is incomparable. He appreciated his style of expression as a satirist of Punjabi language.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Khalid Hussain from the presidium and Dr. Pritam Singh also expressed their views. Dr. Monojit Singh expressed his gratitude towards the lovers of his satire work and shared his experiences in creating his satire.
