Jammu, Oct 15: Mahila Morcha BJP State President Rajni Sethi today hailed festivals as the essence of our tradition which connects people with their culture.
Speaking at a function organised to mark Karwa Chauth celebration, she said this festival is celebrated with great zeal and vigour in the entire country in which married women fast from sunrise to moon rise for that safety and longevity of their husband safety reflects our rich culture.
She added that it is celebrated in the fourth day of "Kartik Maas" as per Hindu Calendar. It is celebrated just nine days prior to Dipawali festival. Karwa Chauth is a festival where Indian woman actually signifies the strong will, who is on fast for entire day for the long life of her husband. This festival reinforces the love between married couple.
The evening celebration on the eve was organised here at Baby Caterers, Rehari. The impressive function attracted hundreds of women participated in different events in large members. The District wise performers enthralled the audience with their folk song, Bhangra, musical feasts and quiz. The enthusiastic participation of women folk depicts how strongly we are connected to our roots and are keeping age old traditions alive, she said. Rajni Sethi, while congratulating women for celebrating this festival said this is how we stay firmly rooted in our rich culture and added that this event creates a bonding between us all.
