KISHTWAR, Oct 16: District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana has imposed Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in the historic Chowgan ground. The order reads that, "There are frequent complaints from the general public of Kishtwar that vehicles usually enter and ply in famous Chowgan Ground Kishtwar and thereby cause threat/damages to the greenery of the Ground. Besides, there is every apprehension of accidents which may injure the players and visitors in the Ground. In order to prevent entry of the vehicles in the ground DM Kishtwar imposes Section 144 CrPC for the safety of public life and prevention of damage to greenery of the famous/historic Chowgan Ground. By imposing Section 144 CrPC in the Chowgan Ground the movement of heavy or light vehicles, our-wheelers, three- wheelers, two-wheelers, motorcycles and bicycles and all the ice-cream vending carts has been banned." |
