Natrang commences series of screening of movie on Gulab Singh

JAMMU, Oct 17: As a befitting tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh on his 227th Birth Anniversary, Natrang commenced a series of screening the first ever film on Maharaja Gulab Singh for the larger audience so that they are made aware about the history of the region.
On the first day, the film was screened thrice for the students of Model Academy, NCC Cadets and for general audience. The film would also be screened for the students of SPMR College of Commerce, Govt. College for Women, Parade, IIT Jammu and KC International School in the series.
Entitled as 'Gulab Gatha', this film by Balwant Thakur is produced by Natrang and sponsored by Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust Jammu. Sharing details, the conceptualizer of this film Balwant Thakur informed that this will be a unique venture of Natrang aimed at documentation and dissemination of the untold glorious history of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. He thanked Dr. Karan Singh for inspiring him and believing in his abilities to write, produce and direct the first ever firm on Dogra History.
The lead role of Maharaja Gulab Singh is played by FTII's meritorious product Sunil Kumar Palwal who has many films and TV serials to his credit including Jolly LLB2, Mughal-e-Azam, 'Yeh Dil Ramta Yogi', 'Chera-the unknown mask', 'Satin Sin B's', MTV Rush, Shapptah, Rakshak, Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke etc.
He is supported by prominent TV and stage actors of Jammu including Arvind Anand, Madan Rangeela, Janak Khajuria, Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Vijay Bhat, Sanjeev Gupta, Suresh Kumar, Pankaj Sharma, Subash Jamwal, Sumeet Sharma, Gaurav Jamwal, Rahul Sharma, Aftab Singh Chauhan, Meera Tapasvi, Aarushi Thakur Rana, Gauri Thakur, Mohd. Yaseen, Rahul Singh, Goutam Sharma, Ashish Parihar, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Sanket Bhagat, Sushant Singh Charak, Aviral Kapoor, Shivam Singh, Kuldeep Angral, Shivam Sharma and Mohsin Malik.
Entire technical crew came from Mumbai and film was technically coordinated by Maloop Singh, Mohd Yaseen and Gaurav Jamwal. The film 'Gulab Gatha' is about the journey of a soldier who achieves great success at everything he initiated. His unquestionable obligatory obedience towards Lahore Durbar, his unconditional sacrifice and his conception of a kingdom has been regarded and given value in this.
