Kishtwar youths demand employment package
10/18/2019 10:05:24 PM
Kishtwar, Oct 18: A meeting of unemployed youths of District Kishtwar was held today under the chairmanship of Joginder Bhandari in the meeting various demands related to the employment package to unemployed youths in State, central government departments as well as in private sectors were discussed. They have also demanded 80% employment to local unemployed youths of District Kishtwar in Pakal Dul, Keru and Kawar hydroelectric projects besides 30% reservation in jobs in Chenab Valley Power projects (CVPP) as all the three hydroelectric projects are being executed in the District with the generating capacity of 2164 MW. The youth leader Joginder Bhandari while speaking on the occasion demanded resumption of work on Rattle hydroelectric project (850 MW) which was abandoned in the year 2014 as a result of which 493 workers were retrenched. It may be recalled that the Rattle hydroelectric project was awarded to a Hyderabad based company M/s GVK on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) bases for a period of 35 years but due to the interference of some goons of a particular political party and consequently the client GVK left the work half way. He has also demanded starting of work on Keru, Kawar, Karthi, Burser and Dul hasti stage II hydroelectric projects so that the avenues of employment could be generated for the unemployed youths of the state and the government of India should focus on these hydroelectric projects so that maximum unemployed youths of the state could be absorbed to some extent.
