Advisor Khan reviews arrangements for board exams

SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan today chaired a meeting to take stock of the preparations made for the forthcoming board examinations of 10th to 12th classes of Kashmir Division and winter zone of Jammu Division.
Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Sarita Chauhan, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP Kashmir SP Pani, Chairperson J&K State Board of School Education Veena Pandita, Director School Education Kashmir Mohammad Younis Malik were present in the meeting. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma and IGP Jammu SDS Jamwal all the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division also participated in the meeting through Video Conferencing.
Khan advised the divisional administrations for making all the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of examinations commencing from last week of October.
Chairperson BOSE informed the Advisor that all the material regarding the conduct of examinations has been prepared. She revealed that in order to weed out any sort of confusion, colour coding of packets containing the material for different classes has been adopted.
Director School Education Kashmir informed the meeting that date sheets for lower classes like 8th and 9th has also been notified. He further revealed that the examination centres for the same would be notified later this month and Admit Cards issued subsequently. He also revealed that provision for satellite centres has also been made wherever students might face any difficulty in reaching the designated centres. He informed that examinations for classes 5th to 7th would be carried by the respective schools as per the directive issued by State Institute of Education.
The meeting ended with the assurance from all the officials that exams of all the students would be carried out in a safe and transparent manner in order to save their career.
