Symposium on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao organised at GDC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Oct 20: As part of "International day of Girl Child" celebrations, a symposium on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was organised here by NSS volunteers of Govt. Degree College in collaboration with District Administration.
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Angrez Singh Rana and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta were chief guests on the occasion.
Nodal Officer, BBBP (ALC) Anoop Kumar, Prof. Surinder Sen, Prof. Faisal Mushtaq Ahmed Kichloo, SHO Kishtwar, Professors from GDC besides about 250 students/NSS volunteers from GDC attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, DDC lauded the efforts of NSS team for their efforts in the field for awareness generation among common masses about the BBBP campaign.
"There is no difference between girl and boy child and both should be treated equally by the parents and society. Girls are making their presence felt in every field whether sports, literature, science, education etc, and we need to provide them opportunity to do so" he maintained.
Various speakers put forth their valuable suggestions/thoughts on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padao on the occasion. Meanwhile, theme song of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was presented by NSS Volunteers.
Later, an interactive session was also held wherein DDC answered the queries of students.
