Procession to commemorate Chehlum taken out

Jammu, Oct 20: The procession to commemorate the Chehlum (40th Day) of Shodaye Karbala was taken out from Dargah Peer Mitha Sofi Shah under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu. People from different faiths pay tribute to the martyrs of Karbala. The procession passed through its traditional route lakhdata bazar, rajinder bazar, Ghaas Mandi Chowk, wazarat road and culminated at Karbala complex. Thousands of mourners participated in the procession to pay rich tributes to the martyrs of Karbala. Maulana Syed Ali Badshah Naqvi Imam Jumma addresed the gathering of mourners before the procession was taken out. He passionately narrated the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s) and his companions at karbala and he also impressed upon the values of Karbala and sacrifice of Iamam Hussain (a.s). The mourners paid homage to Imam Hussain (a.s) by taking out Alam and Tazia procession. President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Amanat Ali Shah said that to commemorate the 40th day of shahadat of Imam Hussain (a.s.) a Blood donation camp was also organized at our head office Karbala Complex in collaboration with All Ladakh Muslim Student Association Jammu. He further added that we learned from this great sacrifice that we should always remain on front to help the needy. He sacrificed everything for the sake of Huimanity and Islam. He further added that after 1440 years people still observed Moharram with same passion.
