Inter-school literary competition held

Jammu, Oct 21: An "Inter school literary competition" was held in the premises of St. Xavier's Convent School, Kathua.
The participating schools were Holy Family Convent School, Nagri Parole, Sacred Heart Convent School, Billawar, St. Mary's Convent School Challan - Ramkot and St. Xavier's Convent School, Kathua.
The programme was started with prayer song and welcome address by Fr. Dominic, Principal, St. Xavier's Convent School, Kathua. The events of the day were Poem Recitation, Quiz, Declamation, Elocution, Tongue Twister, Spelling Bee, Story Narration and Memory Test.
A total of 295 students participated from class 1st to 10th of various schools. The programme started at 10.00 am and ended at 1.30 pm under the judgment of nominated judges. After the competitions a small cultural programme was held to entertain the participants.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Majid Mehboob KPS, DSP Headquarters, Kathua. The Chief Guest in his speech said "A student's life is full of innovations, competitions etc, keep exploring without wasting your time in useless activities. One day you will remember the essence of your School Life in later stage". He spoke "Every one of you is talented, explore your talent, plan your studies and all the best for your future".
The Chief Guest also distributed the felicitation prizes to First, Second, Third position holders of various schools those who deemed to qualify for further Diocesan Level Competitions to be held at Jammu on 5th December 2019. The whole event was supervised by Fr. Soosai Rajan, the Director of the Co curricular activities, Diocesan Schools and coordinated by Fr. Premful and Fr. John Paul. The programme terminated after the Lunch.
