Bishnah, Oct 22: Cutting across social streams and divides denizens of Bishnah Assembly constituency have expressed serious concern on continuous discriminatory policies of both the Centre and the state governments against Jammu region particularly the rural side of the winter capital.
Expressing apprehensions as to what lies in store for the region in the aftermath of the reorganisation of the state, they strongly felt that the manner in which the things are unfolding and total confusion on the future contours of the Union Territory set up does not augur well for Jammu.
Expressing their views at an impressively held 'Dewali Milan' function here, the speakers led by senior Congress leader and eminent lawyer, Mohinder Bhardwaj asked the government to take necessary steps and implement the promises made by them for the political empowerment and overall development of Jammu region. They expressed serious concern on Jammu being targeted in the matter of opening toll plazas whereas other regions of the state have gone scot free.
"This is discriminatory and goes against the interest of Jammu region and its people. The government should have a uniform policy for the entire state and make its stand clear as to what it wished to do for the region," Mr Bhardwaj.
Paying tributes to the nationalist and patriotic people of Jammu region particularly those living in border areas, Bhardwaj alleged that the state.
