Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 22: On the twelfth day of the ongoing Rangleela Natya Utsav , Robroo, New Delhi presented Waris Shah's musical extravaganza 'Heer Ranjha' at Abhinav Theatre today.
The magnanimous production was adapted, dramatized and directed by Kajal Suri, the daughter of soil who presently is programme officer Drama section, All India Radio New Delhi.
The play exquisitely designed with musical intersperse of poetic renditions of Waris Shah was enacted by a strong team of 28 characters who portrayed different nuances of tragedy of Heer and Ranjha.
The story revolves around two love birds in a folklore form in the backdrop of the state of Punjab viz Heer and Ranjha who despite many societal impediments and other difficulties keep their love upheld ethically, but not to the consent of the elderly who are against the system.
While the love rises against the wishes of the people, Heer and Ranjha do not submit to any of the ruthlessness shown by both the families. Knowing that love bond is not likely to break , the uncle of Heer feeds her with sweet containing poison to end the love story . While Heer dies , Ranjha to embraces death eating the remaining sweet. Drishti Sharma as Heer and Ashutosh Shukla as Ranjha gave a scintillating performance which earned high round of applause from the jam packed thaeter. Choreographed by Anju Matto, Astha Gupta and Ram Mehra , other cast and credfits who gave important support to the magnum opus included Gaurav Devgun, Rajiv Maini , Watsla Arora Khera , Ashih Modi, Pankaj Kumar and Shantanu Saini , Ishan , Dhruv, Varun Harsh, Terence , Sapna , Rohit and Sunil Chauhan.
Prefectly being termed as one of the strongest performance by Robroo, New Delhi in the ongoing Utsav conducted by Laksya-The Aim and co-powered by Nutan Prayas , today's production left an indelible impact on the audience that took home a beautiful feeling of mystics in music , dance and art. Set, music, lights added great excellence as Kajal Suri's clinical perfection in dramatizing the epical folklore of Heer Ranjha was treat to watch as the show turned out be flawless presentation seldom watched.
