Div Com reviews arrangements for Ekta Divas

Jammu, Oct 23: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed arrangements for celebration of Ekta Divas at a meeting with concerned departments.
The meeting was attended by Director Urban Local Bodies, Joint Director Education, Deputy Director Estates, besides officers of Youth Services and Sports, Sports Council, Public Works Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation, School Education, Cultural Academy and other concerned.
The concerned officers apprised the Div Com of arrangements being put in place for celebration of Ekta Divas. It was informed that 20 students from 15 schools of Jammu City are participating in the marathon (Run for Unity) being organised by Youth Services and Sports. It was further informed that the Ekta Divas marathon (Run for Unity) would also be organised in each block, zone of district Jammu.
It was informed that cultural items would also be organised at Jammu Airport, Vikram Chowk and Railway Station.
The Div Com exhorted upon the officers to put in place all necessary arrangements in time for smooth celebration of Ekta Divas.
Meanwhile, the Div Com also took stock of arrangements being made in view of Darbar move.
It was informed that beautification works have almost been completed besides other allied works are in progress.
The Div Com asked for painting of dividers and other prominent walls of the city. He asked the JMC to install dustbins, containers in the city to keep the city clean.
