Crime Branch Jammu arrests fake RTO

Jammu, Nov 8: A complaint was lodged by S Kulwant Singh R/O Poonch in Crime Branch Jammu along with relevant documents, for being cheated of over Rs. 4 lakh by Rakesh Singh impersonating himself as RTO Jammu on mobile phone. Rakesh contacted them on mobile and lured them for availing them RTO's discretionary discount for buying a new car.
Complainant was planning to gift a new car to his wife who was retiring on 31st August, fell into the trap. After verifications, FIR No. 42 U/S 420, 419 RPC was lodged against the accused in Police Station, Crime Branch Jammu and investigation initiated. Accused Rakesh Singh S/O Kair Singh R/O Dherian (Jattan Kothey) Khour is a notorious cheater. In recent past, fifteen (15) warrants of arrest have been issued against the accused Rakesh Singh in different earlier legal suits of cheating by different courts including Special Railway Magistrate, Sub-Judge Jammu, Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu and Sub-Judge Special Mobile Magistrate 13th FC Jammu. Accused was evading arrest. During investigations, Investigating Officer of the case has discovered in one of bank accounts of accused Rakesh Singh, more than Rs. 30 lakh has poured in two years from different banks and cash transactions.
Surprisingly all this money has either been immediately been withdrawn or transferred to other accounts within few hours, by the accused. After a track of around one month, today on a tipoff from a reliable source, acting swiftly with a meticulous planning, Investigating Officer of crime branch arrested the Conman Rakesh who evaded all earlier warrants of arrest. Meticulously probe is also going on for collecting all relevant evidences in the case. Reportedly there are more complaints against Conman Rakesh in different sections of Police.
