SMVDU organizes cultural evening

Katra, Nov 8: A cultural evening was organized by the Board of Cultural Activities (BCA), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, where Kaustabh. M.Kunj, a reputed child prodigy, created beautiful and scrupulous environment with his magical voice. Everyone in the auditorium was mesmerized with his beautiful and attractive voice. Kaustabh started the program with classical singing. He inaugurated the ceremony with Raag-bihag and also dedicated the song to his guru Pandit Anand Vaid, playback singer Pt. Suresh Wadekar and Bhajan Samrat Padamshree Anup Jalota Ji. His Song Guru Bin Kaon Lagaye Baat was dedicated to his guru's and everyone in the auditorium was amused by his performance. Two more classical songs Laga Chunri Mein Daag and Naina More Taras Gaye were sung by him and it clearly showed his knowledge about minute details of classical singing. He also sang melody based on Raag Yaman and everyone appreciated him for his beautiful voice and melodies singing. He ended the show with songs of Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Arjit Singh. The cultural evening was graced by the presence of honourable Vice Chancellor PadamShree R.K. Sinha as Chief Guest, Rakesh Kumar (Power Grid Corporation of India) as guest of honour and Annand Pal Singh DGM, J&K Bank also graced the occasion as the guest of honor.
The musical night was organized on sidelines of International Conference on Applied Biology (ICAB-2019), which was attended by more than 300 delegates from around the world, particularly USA, Europe and Australia. The organizer of the musical program was Board of Cultural Activities (BCA) was led by Dr. Sumanta. S. Sharma and Dr. Rakesh Thusoo .
