Mission Director reviews physical, financial progress under NHM

Jammu, Nov 8: Mission Director, NHM Bhupinder Kumar J&K along with Dr. Renu Khajuria, Director Health Services, Jammu today reviewed the physical & financial progress regarding various programmes under National Health Mission in the UT of J&K. Mission Director, NHM, J&K took review of operationalisation of Health & Wellness Centres (HWCs), status of implementation of free drugs & diagnostics for Comprehensive Primary Health care, functioning of Mobile Medical Units, celebration of World Diabetes Day and National Deworming Day etc. During the meeting directions were issued for providing expanded range of services under Ayushman Bharat through Health & Wellness Centres as per the targets fixed for current financial year. It was also decided that the trainings of field functionaries in Non Communicable Disease (NCD) screening shall be completed within one month. It was decided in the meeting that, all children in the age group of 1-19 years shall be provided free of cost chewable deworming tablet on 25th November in schools & anganwadi centres in order to reduce the prevalence of worm infestation in children & adolescents. It was also informed in the meeting that the Biomedical Equipment Maintenance programme shall be rolled out shortly in J&K for which all the preparations have been made.
Director Health Services, Jammu issued instructions to all the concerned officers for ensuring implementation of all the National Health Programmes in time bound manner and directed for ensuring availability of adequate stock of drugs & consumables in snow bound areas of Jammu Division.
The meeting was attended by FA&CAO, NHM, J&K; Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers from Jammu Division.
, representatives from Drug Control Organisation, Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and Programme Managers from State Health Society, NHM, J&K.
