Dogra college organizes guest lecture

Jammu, Nov 8: Dogra Degree College organized a Guest Lecture on the topic Modern Economic Growth: Micro and Macro View for the staff and students on 08th Nov 2019 in the college Auditorium.
The resource person for the day was DR. Falendra Kumar Sudan, Prof. Deptt. of Economics, University of Jammu.
In his Lecture Prof. Sudan developed a critical understanding of the impact of changing Demography on economic growth after 1500AD. In his presentation he elaborated on key terms like Gross Sector Value Addition, World Gross Product Growth, Labour Productivity Growth, Labour Force Productivity, Personal Consumption Expenditure, Real Disposal Income. The highlight of the lecture was a detailed discussion on the policy challenges both Macro & Micro wherein potential for a long term sustainable growth and overcoming fundamental obstacles to achieve the 2030 agenda for sustainable development were discussed.
The audience showed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the deliberations of the Guest Lecture. It was a fruitful knowledge sharing experience. The doubts and queries of the students were also addressed by the resource person.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Col. Kamal Padha (Retd.), Director Adm & Campus Dev. The Programme earlier started with the welcome address by Ms. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College. The stage was conducted by Ms. Chehak Gupta, student of Dogra Degree College and vote of thanks was moved by Ms. Aditi Khajuria, Lecturer, Dogra Degree College. The function concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
