PDD Lineman's negligence causes damage to electronic gadgets

JAMMU, Nov 8: The negligence of Lineman of Power Development Department has come to fore in the heart of Jammu city and it proved to be reason for damaging the electronic gadgets worth thousands of rupees.
The inhabitants of the Old University Campus lane reported that the transformer installed in their area went out of order due to wind storm lashed with rains on the intervening night of November 6-7, which forced the authorities to install another transformer on the next day on November 7. However, the Lineman affixed wrong connections in the presence of the Junior Engineer, which caused much damage to the electronic gadgets of the residents of the area.
Electronics gadgets such as mobile phones, refrigerators, geysers, pumping motors, bulbs etc got damaged due to very high voltage due to wrong connection. The estimated damage done is believed to be worth thousands of rupees.
The inhabitants of the area are very furious over the act of the PDD officials, who instead of providing them solace put them to further jeopardy.
They appealed to the PDD authorities to provide them suitable compensation for sheer negligence on the part of the PDD officials.
They further said that they would be meeting the Commissioner with a detailed memorandum in this regard.
