Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 11: Though Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have time and again boasted of securing the interests of natives by bringing domicile certificate for J&K residents but there seemed no takers of their announcements in newly created Union Territory's administration, which is so far clueless about fate of domicile certificate.
Before the final shifting of J&K into a Union Territory from October 31, the BJP leaders including Ram Madhav had publically announced that the interests of natives would be secured by the government. Moreover same utterances were repeated by several of their leaders in various meetings but so far no such formal order has been issued.
Sources in the General Administration Department (GAD) informed Early Times that they have so far not got any direction from the government to initiate the process to bring domicile certificate or any other such certificate, which would secure the jobs for natives.
Though officials of GAD had been thinking that the process to issue domicile certificate would be initiated by the Law department but sources in the Law department informed that the GAD would initiate the process and the bill would come for vetting in the department but so far no such bill has been forwarded by the GAD.
Sources in civil secretariat informed Early Times that most of the senior officials were totally unaware as whether the domicile would be issue or not, so the clouds of uncertainty have been shrouded over the matter so far.
The premier recruitment agencies Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission as well as Service Selection Board (SSB) have not been advertising the posts following the conversion of state into Union Territory.
An official of JKPSC informed that the Law department had called back some posts, forwarded for the advertisement and it was still unclear as why the posts were taken back. So far the Commission is not going to advertise posts soon.
Officials of SSB claimed that they have not been advertising the posts as the internet facilities have been restricted and most of their process was online. "So far we have not received any direction from government to sought domicile certificate for the posts", an official pleading anonymity said.
