Jammu, Nov 12: A delegation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh Jammu and Kashmir today called on Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Labour Commissioner and apprised him about the problems of workers.
The delegation was led by Harbans Choudhary and they apprised the officials that in factories 10-12 hours duties are taken but overtime is not given, minimum wages be also given as per Union territory rates which is more than 10000/- per month.
They also added that no wage slips are being given to workers which are mandatory under payment of wages Act 1936 and in the absence of wage slips illegal deductions from wages are being made concerned officials be asked to take strict action and also compel the employer particularly labour supplier contractors for mentioning their full postal address, ESI, I.P Number and PF subscriber number on the wage slips as department is accountable for that under law as employees are being paid less payment which is violation of law.
