Revival of terrorism in Kishtwar requires thorough probe: Brig Gupta
11/13/2019 9:26:04 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: While appreciating the decision of the Home Ministry to hand over the investigation of cases of terrorist incidents in Kishtwar in the last one year to the NIA, Brig Anil Gupta, Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a thorough probe into the conspiracy of reviving terrorism in this area which was declared terror-free about a decade ago.
The work done by JKP in bursting the over ground network and arresting a few of the active OGWs is laudable and speaks volumes of the professionalism and dedication of the force, said Brig Gupta. By handing over the case to NIA, it is now expected that all loopholes will be plugged and blanks filled to unearth the conspiracy to revive terrorism in this belt which had relatively remained calm despite grave provocations by communal elements active in the area, stated Brig Gupta. "The conspiracy is deep-rooted and had the sinister aim of creating fear among the minorities in order to force another migration as per the inputs received from the ground zero.
Those arrested so far, constitute only a few of the culprits while the big fish has avoided arrest so far. The network includes many active politicians and ex-government officials. Another angle that needs to be investigated is the involvement of Jammat-e-Islami and Pakistan," asserted Brig Gupta. The killing of high -profile Hindu leaders clearly substantiates the suspicion of supressing nationalist voices and planned ethnic cleansing by anti-national forces enjoying political patronage.
"It is unfortunate that the brother of a leading politician of the area who was not only an ex-minister but is also a close confidant of a senior Congress leader and ex-Chief Minister of the state who is currently on a tour of the area has not been arrested so far despite his name appearing in the FIR filed by police in last week of September," said Brig Gupta.
