Farooq Sahib! Hai Na Hamare Baap Ka
Jammu and Kashmir
R.B. Suri11/13/2019 9:57:54 PM
These days, National Conference leader and the three time remained as the Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Farooq Abdullah and the two other former Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are under the captivity and detained by the Governor's administration headed by the Governor Satya Malik under the PSA after the scrapping of the Article 370 and Article 35A of the Indian Constitution since August 5. They are passing their sleepless nights with discomforts as they see their political future in danger. Over the issue of the Article 370 and Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, they were exploiting the poor and innocent masses of the valley for the patty interests after the partition of the country in 1947. It is on record that Dr. Farooq Abdullah was whemently crying day and night that J&K is not any body's father's property. Since time is the great healer and wait for none - Time has shown that he was totally wrong on this score. Our heads are down before the mighty and dynamic Prime Minister of the country Narender Modi who has shown his wisdom and the courage in scrapping the Article 370 and Article 35 A of the Indian Constitution on August 5 after having the hectic debate in the Indian Parliament. Gone are the days when the Kashmir Centric Leaders and the Separatists/Leaders of the Hurriayat Amalgamation were having the open field for their operation in the valley under the garb of the Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution. They were attaining their political ambitions like anything at the very cost of the poor masses of the valley. Over the decades, they ruled the state of Jammu and Kashmir with their narrow minded ness. They remained extremely busy in exploiting the sentiments of the Kashmiri people against the Union of India for their vested interests. By looting the huge money out of the exchequer of the State Government and misusing their political power, they amazed the wealth of the state for their at least 4 generations to come yet. By the act of the Indian Parliament on August 5 in scrapping of the Articles 370 and 35 A from the Indian Constitution resulting which they have been reduced to big ZERO. Under the circumstances, now two options are open to them. EITHER to change their mindsets drastically and acclimatize with the present situation when our state stands bifurcated into two UTs - J&K UT and Ladhakh UT OR they should leave the active politics once for all and face the legal actions for their wrong actions and misdeeds.
From October 31 and onwards there will is no more J&K state at all rather it has started working as the Union Territory under the command and control of the Lieutenant Governor G.C. Murmu. By the Reorganization of the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two 2 UTs by the act of the Indian Parliament, the long pending demand of people of far flung Ladhakh stands fulfilled by the Union Government. In fact, the people of far flung Ladhakh had struggled a lot for many a decades in the past and ultimately they achieved the same by the act of the Indian Parliament on August 5 resulting which they are feeling jubilant at the moment. The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir(3 times) Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were continuously building the tremendous pressure over the Union Government for not scrapping the Articles 370 and 35 A of the Indian Constitution. For the God sake, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti should not treat the state as their ancestral party rather it was the Dogra Kingdom of Maharaja Gulab Singh. Last Maharaja of the state Hari Singh after having signed the IOA with GOI on October 26,1947 made the accession to Indian Union which was accepted by the Lord Mount Baten of GOI on October 27,1947.
In my article published in this esteemed paper under the caption "FAROOQ SAHIB! AVOID PRESSURE TACTICS" on September 11, 2018 I had submitted before him that he should keep in his mind the interests of the Sovereignty and the very Integrity of the country first before making any unwanted utterances otherwise all these things would go detrimental to the interests of his party founded by his great father Sher-e- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah. The Indian Republic is one now with one constitution and one Flag as a result of the abrogation of the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution made by the Indian Parliament on August 5. Prior to it the state of Jammu and Kashmir was enjoying the special status under the Indian Constitution. J&K was having its own Constitution and the Flag. Abrogation of the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution by the Indian Parliament under the able and dynamic leadership of the the Prime Minister Narender Modi is the bold decision in making the nation as one in the real sense with one Constitution and one Flag.
Article 370 of the Indian Constitution breaded the corruption, nepotism , separatism and the militancy in Jammu and Kashmir for decades together and with the abrogation of the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution by the Indian Parliament, the people of the state got the sigh of relief these days. Gone are the days when the erstwhile J&K state was enjoying the special status under the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and the people of the rest of the country were not entitled to the buy the land in the state under the Article 35 A. Both of the Articles of the Indian Constitution stand scrapped on August 5 by the Indian Parliament which is the Supreme body of framing the laws for the country. The President of India has already given his nod to the same. Now therefore, the Kashmir centric leaders should not make the hue and cry for retaining the same as there is no fun in crying over the spilt milk.
Without keeping their eye on Pakistan which is in shambles these days, they should rather rise to the occasion in their interests to develop the sympathies for the overall development of the country and the J&K UT as well. Abdullahs and Muftis who ruled the state for more than three decades and made the lives of the subjects of the state miserable are things things of the past. They remained at the helm of the affairs in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir which stands bifurcated into two UTs - Ladhakh and J&K UT by the Indian Parliament on August 5. For the lust power in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullahs and Muftis went on exploiting the people of the state for their vested political interests only without caring for their welfare and the overall development of the state. According to the unofficial sources more than 80000 have been killed since 1987 as against the figure of 40000+ as announced by the Union Government in the Indian Parliament. This is very unfortunate. These days, the entire state is put on high alert by the security forces of the country and the overall situation in the state is generally peaceful leaving aside some minor incidence of violence in the state. All the top leaders of the PDP, NC, Panthers Party have been made under house arrests so that they may not be able to further vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the valley and the Jammu region as well. As a precautionary measure the net services in the entire state have been curbed. Also the competent Governor Satya Pal Malik is on record as having said that not even a single bullet fire occurred in the valley after the abrogation of the Articles 370 and 35 A of the Indian Constitution. This certainly goes to his credit.
The people of the valley should treat themselves as the Indian first and think for their overall development and welfare by remaining within the ambit of the Indian Constitution. Without keeping an eye over PAKISTAN, they should live like as Indians and die in protecting the Integrity and the Sovereignty of the nation. Their ultimate future is bright in this great country where Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Bodh, Jains, Christians and others live together since centuries. This peculiar characteristic of the nation exists since long as it gives the shape to the country like a beautiful garden in which there are numerous beautiful flowers in it.
Under the changed scenario, the people of the valley are required to change their mindsets and they should start developing the love for the country and its citizens so as to enable them to move ahead fastly. It is on record that the former Chief Ministers of the erstwhile J&K state Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti had stated that no power on this earth can snatch the special status of J&K and the moment the special status of J&K is withdrawn, the state will be on fire and there will be a total bloodshed in the valley. 100 days are already over after the abrogation of the Articles Articles 370 and 35 A of the Indian Constitution made by the Indian Parliament on August 5 by the two third majority. The Governor Satya Pal is also on record as having said that not even a single bullet was fired by the security forces of the country in the valley.
Keeping all the facts as stated above in this article in view , it would be better for the Kashmir centric leaders of the valley that they should respond to the Central Government measures positively otherwise they would be finished once for all as the people of the state are really fed up from them. They should behave like the good citizens of the country forgetting their past and should start thinking a fresh in light of the recent developments.
With the abrogation of the Article 370 we can say with proud that the Nation is one with having its own Flag and the Constitution. The Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and its flag have gone with the wind for ever after passing over of the Bill on the Reorganization of the Jammu and Kashmir state by the Indian Parliament on August 5. The country shall remain indebted to Narender Modi for ever.
