KNIT celebrates 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Jammu, Nov 13: 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj was celebrated at Kotwal National Institute of Teaching with great enthusiasm, fervor and fesitivity. We here in this school are blessed to have the privilege of celebrating the Guru parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj, the founder of Sikh panth." These were the words of Prof J L Kotwal, Director KNIt to mark the beginning of Diwan organised to celebrate the Guruparv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A Kirtan Durbar was organised on the occasion. The Diwan started with Gurubani path Students recited Japji Sshib followed by Shabad kirtan, speeches and poems on the life and teachings of Guru nanak. Prof Kotwal impressed upon the students & teachers to follow the teaching of Guru as these are based on sanjiwalta, sabyachar & the philosophy of kirt karo & vand ke chako. Mrs. Bimla Balloria Principal of the school also greeted everyone present on the occasion. S. Gurdeep Singh administrator also threw light on the life & teachings of Guru Ji. Prasad was distributed among the students. Prof Kotwal announced a cash prize of Rs. 10000 for the participants. The program was conducted by Parmeet Sir, Gagandeep Sir & Upender Sir.
