4 died, 5 injured after vehicle carrying Mata Sarthal Devi pilgrims meets with accident

Kishtwar, Nov 13: ammu Nov 13: In yet another fatal accident on roads in Chenab Valley in less than 24 hours of a tragic accident in Marmat area of Doda were killed of 17 persons including three children,s and five women, four persons today died in another accident in Sarthal area of Kishtwar District while five people received injuries including two critically who were later airlifted to Government Medical College Jammu for advance treatment.
As per the details available with Early Times, the ill fated vehicle bearing Registration No. JK17-6487 carrying the advance party of Yatra aspiring for pilgrimage to Ashtdast Buja Temple commonly known as Mata Sarthal Devi met with an accident some 18 KM from Kishtwar as a result of which four persons died on spot while five others got injured.
Among the four dead, three are the pilgrims while another dead is a local girl who boarded the vehicle for reaching to examination centre for appearing in 10+2 examination. As soon as the news of the accident reach Kishtwar, police party lead by SHO police station Kishtwar Ajaiz Ahmed Wani immediately rush to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of the locals beside shifted the injured to District hospital Kishtwar.
Speaking to Early Times, the driver who is also among the injured said that his breaks didn't work at the time when accident took place and termed the break fail of vehicle as main cause of accident.
The injured were identified by the police sources as Sanjay Kumar son of Krishan Lal , Tara Chand son of Manak Chand, Ajeet Kumar son of Shahdi Lal R/o Trigam, Akshay son of Sajjan Kumar R/o Sarkoot and
Kuldeep Kumar son Ved Lal R/o Jodha Nagar Palmar who was declared as critical was airlifted to GMC Jammu along with other injured Akshay Kumar who according to officials had received injuries in his backbone.
The dead include Samita Devi (18yrs) D/o Jai Lal R/o Pagwari Sarthal, Girdari Lal (48 Yrs) Son of Naib Chand, Munshi Ram (50 yrs) son of Jodh Ram both Residents of Palmar and Sanjay Kumar (20 yrs) son of Baghat Ram R/o Sarthal. People blame poor condition of the roads in Chenab Valley as main cause of the frequent accidents.
