Jammu, Nov 17: Citizen's Forum appreciated the concern of the Finance Minister Nirmla Sitharaman when she invites the suggestions for rationalizing income tax and other duties like GST. Finance Minister was upset when told that people are cursing the GST and Demonetization and she asked the questioners to help her in correcting the problems.
R K Chadha president of Citizen's Forum said that after 6 years of creating mess in financial position of the country, the previous finance Minister, without understanding the Ethos of the poor common man, consisting of more than 90% of the population who always felt secured with the earned money in hand rather than in the Bank, never understood working of a common man.
GST and strict Income Tax restrictions on the flow of money even up to Rs. 50000/- dreaded the small businessman and the buyers to restrict the demand in the market thus creating a great Mandi (business depression).
Chadha said we understand Government has created liabilities to Rs. 88.18 lakhs crores by the end of June 2019 from Rs, 84.68 lakh crores at end March 2019 thus creating a difficult financial position of the country.
