Early Times Report
Kathua, Nov 18: To instill security among border dwellers and to inculcate confidence among them, District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat visited border village Rathua of Hiranagar and took stock of construction of bunkers and listened to the grievances of the villagers.
At the outset, villagers apprised the DDC that during cross border firing the villagers were unable to contact the administration due to mobile connectivity issues. There houses, farm fields and live stock also get affected when firing from other side of the border starts, villagers said to the DDC and asked for better amenities.
The education of the children also gets affected during border conflict whereas, the construction of bunkers is still incomplete and the bunkers also lack toilets, villagers informed the DDC.
DDC after listening to the grievances of villagers assured them that District Administration will help them in every possible way to mitigate their issues. The border dwellers are first line of defence along with the security forces and it is of paramount importance that connectivity issues, whether mobile or roads must get resolved at the earliest, DDC said to the villagers and reassured them that border roads, lanes and drains will be completed in stipulated time.
Providing better, modern and timely health care is another important aspect on which the District Administration is pondering, DDC informed the villagers and convinced them that paucity of Doctors in border area will also get improved.
