The IMD stated that scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on November 20 and 22. Also, thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places likely over parts of southern peninsula during next 2 days.

In Jammu and Kashmir, highways were closed as a precautionary measure after the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall earlier this week. On Monday, the famous ski-resort in Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district recorded about six inches of fresh snowfall.

In Himachal Pradesh, the minimum temperature at most places decreased by a few notches in the last 24 hours due to rains and snowfall at some higher reaches. The minimum temperatures fell by 1-2 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state, the Met department said.
