Ahlaad-2019 literati fest concludes at JU

Jammu, Nov 20: 'Ahlaad-2019', an Inter-Collegiate/Departmental Literati Fest organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, concluded here today at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium. Students from different affiliated colleges and university departments participated in competitions of Essay Writing, Short Story Writing, Poetry Recitation, Flower Arrangement and Sketching. Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. The special feature of the programme was 'Mitti Di Khushboo' in which Folk Music and Dancesof Jammuwere presented by Asha Kesar and group and Om Parkash and Party. Prof. Manoj . Dhar appreciated the efforts of Dean Students Welfare in bringing students close to their roots as such performances play a vital role in making us aware about our rich cultural heritage. He also praised the participating students for their creative presentations in the competition.
Prof. Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare congratulated the winners and participants whose participation made this event successful. He informed that the Department of Students Welfare has chalked out many more such programmes which would make the campus culturally more vibrant.
Prof. Geeta Sumbi, Prof. R. N. Gohil, Prof Indu Kilam, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Ms. Vijaya Thakur, Sh. Vijay Anand, Mr. Aamir Al-Mansoor Prof. Anupama Vohra, Dr. Anju Thappa, Dr. Sadaf Shah, Dr. Pritam Singh. Dr. Liaqat Ali were the adjudicators for different events.
Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. Anupama Vohra, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, Dr. B.K. Bajaj, Associate Dean SW, Dr. Pritam Singh Assistant Dean SW, Ms. Mansi Mantoo, Media Officer SW, members of Campus Cultural Committee, students and scholars were also present at the occasion.Dr. Garima Gupta presented the vote of thanks. The events were coordinated by Ifra Kak and Sumeet Sharma. Kulbhushan Thakur and Arif Paul looked after the sound. The hall management was looked after by Alisha, Vishali, Shahrahza, Kusum, Anup, Sahil and Aishwarya.
