Jat Sabha extends support to Jammu Bar
11/20/2019 9:35:54 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 20: Jammu and Kashmir Jat Sabha today extended its support to ongoing strike of lawyers against Government decision.
The lawyers are on strike from last three weeks in protest against shifting of powers to revenue officials from Judicial Magistrates with regard to registration process.
Extending their support to the lawyers, Jat Sabha, president, and former minister, Manjit Singh has appealed Government to accept the genuine demands of the lawyers.
"Lawyers are not alone, but people are with them for their justified demand," said Manjit Singh. Singh said that the government must revisit their decision and again handover 'registration' to magistrates because people have faith in judicial system and judges.
"Revenue department is known to the people how they face difficulties. There is mistrust among people and lawyers are representing voice of people. Hence, their demands should be accepted for the welfare of people," said Manjit Singh. He said that the lost trust on revenue department cannot be restored and people should be helped with the shifting of registration work to courts.
"One cannot mislead court with a fear of being punished if found wrong," said Manjit Singh.
