Jammu, Nov 20: A special police official (SPO) posted in Border Police Post (BPP) Malla of Police Sub Division, Akhnoor died due to cardiac arrest, this morning while performing his duty.
The deceased police official has been identified as Manjeet Kumar resident of village Malla. "He was recruited as SPO, in a recently held recruitment rally and posted in his native area", a senior officer said, adding that on Wednesday early morning he was on his duty when he suddenly collapsed.
"He fell on road un-consciously, the passer-by and his father rushed on spot and shifted him to the sub-district hospital (SDH) Sunder Bani where doctors pronounced him brought dead. His body handed over to family members after legal formalities", they said,
The last rites were performed in his native village Malla, locals and police officials including SDPO Akhnoor, DySP Ajay Sharma also joined the last rites the fallen comrade. |
