DM Kishtwar imposes Section 144 around examination centres

JAMMU, Nov 20: Taking stringent view of the menace of mass copying in board examinations, the administration has decided to impose Section 144 CrPC outside the examination centres where students are going to appear for 10th and 10+2 examination.
As per the details available with Early Times, in order to ensure smooth conduct of Higher Secondary examination Part I (Class 11th) session Annual regular, Winter Zone by State Board of School Education, Jammu commencing from tomorrow and to check the external interference, District Magistrate (DM) Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC around the examination centres of district Kishtwar.
The decision came following imposition of section 144 outside the examination centres of 10th & 12th standard, whose exams are presently underway in Kishtwar District.
"Under section 144 CrPC, any person not concerned with the conduct of examination in any manner, shall not be allowed to enter within 100 meters radius of the examination centres," said DM Kishtwar adding that no person shall be allowed to use loud speaker within 100 metre radius of the examination centre/Hall during examination.
Only the examinees/supervisory staff of the examination centres and security force personnel deployed for examination duty and authorities connected with the smooth conduct of examinations shall be allowed to enter 100 meters radius of the examination centers.
The concerned Tehsildar/ SHO shall implement the order in letter and spirit.
