Jammu, Nov 20: Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi- the national academy of music, dance and drama is going to organize the Purvottar Dhara - a festival featuring artists from the north-east and other region in Jammu from 22nd to 24th of November, 2019 daily at 5pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. The festival is being organized in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu (JKAACL). The festival is an effort to connect the folks of Jammu and Kashmir with the diverse range of music and dances of other parts of the country especially north east regions of India. It is pertinent to mention that more the ten states of northeast and other parts of country are participating to showcase their culture and tradition in the city of temples.
The festival will commence on 22nd of November with the presentations of Debojyoti Laskar and Group from Tripura, The Refiners Choir from Nagaland, Chabilal Pradhan & group from Sikkim, Gulzar Ahmad Ganie(Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee) from Kashmir and Sarbajit Kaur (Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee) from Punjab. It will be followed by the presentations of Geetanjali Dance Academy from Meghalaya, Romalo Ram & Group from Jammu, C. Lalrikinga & group from Mizoram, Sattriya Kendra from Assam and Debasish Reang & Group from Tripura. The festival will culminate on 24th of November, 2019 with the presentations of Lianda Folk & Classical Academy from Manipur, Deepen Das & Group from Assam, Taho Mibang & Group from Arunachal Pradesh, Sabbir Kamaal Siddi & group from Gujarat and Khete Khan (Yuva Bismillah Khan SNA Awardee) & group from Rajasthan.
A special team from Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi has come apart from the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for smooth organization of the festival.
