Traffic Police challans erring drivers at Ramban

RAMBAN, Nov 20: Traffic Police Ramban today carried out extensive checking of vehicles from Khellani onwards to Thathri, Dhrabshalla and Kishtwar during which many erring drivers were challaned for violation of Motor Vehicle Act.
The inspection drive was led by SSP Traffic NHW Jatinder Singh, along with Pankaj Sodan, Dy. SP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar, DTI Doda Bhovinder Singh and DTI Kishtwar Kesar Singh.
The SSP Traffic NHW carried out challaning and booked 18 violators for different traffic violations. On the occasion, on-spot awareness was given to erring drivers regarding seat belt, wearing crash helmets, avoiding use of mobile phone while driving and also against carrying extra passengers in PSVs in excess of the seating capacity.
Later, SSP Traffic NHW discussed measures to prevent road mishaps and traffic regulatory mechanism with Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana.
The SSP Traffic NHW also discussed the need for more parking space in the Kishtwar town and augmentation of the safety measures with the Deputy Commissioner.
