In custody, Farooq Abdullah often laughs without a reason: Report
Tales of crumbled castles!

Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 20: The reports coming to fore about NC patriarch Farooq Abdullah about his ongoing incarceration period is quite amusing in nature as he has been reportedly found laughing out loud without a reason during detention in Srinagar.
A detailed report published by a reputed national newspaper has claimed that Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq Abdullah have shown the least or no resistance, with the senior Abdullah responding to the loss of his political standing with unsettling signs. "He often laughs without a reason and has little appreciation of the situation," newspaper quoted a source close to his family in the report.
Once upon a time enjoying monopoly in Kashmir politics, senior Abdullah seems to have been now sunk into oblivion with truth descending upon him that even a weeks time is enough in politics.
Furthermore, the newspaper also has published an interning anecdote about Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone who last November staked claim for the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The news report mentions: "Lone had managed to sweet-talk an on-duty police officer and use his phone to call a person who was purportedly Amit Shah. A call that lasted a couple of minutes saw "Lone pleading like a baby" and reminding the listener of his and his family's sacrifices for "the country and the BJP in the state. The receiver of the call apparently promised to talk to him again. But soon afterwards, the police chief was informed of the call and an investigation was ordered. The on-duty police officer was immediately suspended and the anecdotal information that has reached the outside world suggests that pressure was increased on Lone to completely cower him into submission."
Pertinently, on August 5, this year, the union government scrapped Article 370 that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The government also bifurcated the state into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Apprehending that the leaders of various mainstream political groups could instigate protests and there could be a spike in incidents of violence, these leaders were kept in various make-shift jails. The detainees include three former chief ministers namely Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti. Though Farooq Abdullah has been slapped with PSA under which he cannot contest his trail for the minimum period of six months, Omar and Mehbooba have so far been kept under preventive custody.
As per the reports, apart from Mirwaiz, two leaders of National Conference, one each from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and two others, whose political affiliations were not immediately revealed, had signed the bonds.
Pertinently, at least 36 detainees who were lodged in sub-jail Centaur since August 5 have been shifted to MLA Hostel Srinagar.
Separatist Mirwaiz was placed under house detention on August 5, in the wake of scrapping of Article 370 and Article 35 A. Mirwaiz, who has been a key leader of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani and JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik. Geelani remains confined to his Hyderpora residence while as Malik has been booked by NIA court and stands lodged in New Delhi's Tihar. The trio had vociferously opposed any change in the State Subject Law guaranteed under Article 35A.
