JAMMU, Nov 21: All J&K Transport Welfare Association today called on Transport Commissioner, Dr. Owais Ahmad and apprised him of various issues and grievances pertaining to the transporters.
Chairman of the Association, T S Wazir, gave a memorandum to the Commissioner regarding issues concerning all type of commercial vehicles including Buses, Trucks, Tankers, Matadors, Taxies, Auto Rickshaws and Tipper for consideration.
The issues highlighted by the Association included smooth implementation of SRO-492 regarding Token Tax, compensation in favour of drivers and conductors who have been injured during operation of their vehicles from Jammu to Srinagar due to unrest, matters relating to toll plaza, amended Motor Vehicle Act 2019, Revision of Passenger Fare, Passenger Tax especially on 2x2 Buses, Adda fees and Transport Company Licenses. The Commissioner assured the association that all the issues put forth by them would be looked into sympathetically for an early redressal. Among others, Joint Transport Commissioner, Gurmukh Singh Assistant Transport Commissioner, Swarn Singh, President, Jammu-Poonch route, Sher Singh, President, Jammu- Banihal route, Pritam Singh, members of transport Associations were present on the occasion. |
