Dr Sehrish gives pep talk to Jammu-Kanyakumari Cyclothon participants

JAMMU, Nov 21: Director Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today gave a pep talk to the students of P N Doshi Women's College Mumbai who are here to participate in the Cyclothon on Friday from Jammu to Kanyakumari.
The Cyclothon from Jammu to Kanyakumari is being organised by the P N Doshi College while the Bharat Petroleum is the co-sponsor of the event. The Cylothon will be flagged-off from University of Jammu on November 22 and will culminate at Kanyakumari on December 25. The theme of the Cyclothon is "Education is every girl's right, which will make our future bright".
Terming the event as extraordinary, Dr Sehrish said that events like these will help in encouraging other girl students in breaking the shackles and doing extraordinary things.
Highlighting the importance of education, she said that education is right of every girl child and they should not shy away from realizing their dreams. She said that girl students have the potential to move the country towards the path of development and progress.
While lauding the efforts of Bharat Petroleum and P N Doshi College, she said that every girl has capability to achieve greatness but the only thing they need to do is have confidence and self-belief.
During the pep talk with the girl students, she wished them good luck and appreciated the efforts of the College and Bharat Petroleum in taking forward the social cause. Speaking on the occasion, Bharat Petroleum Territory Manager (Retail) for J&K and Ladakh informed that company is always at the forefront in taking such kind of initiatives which sends out loud message to the society in creating a better tomorrow.
The Cyclothon is scheduled for a period of 34 days, covering a distance of 3,700 kilometres. The team comprises 21 students in the age group of 12-21 and will be accompanied by 12 staff members. BPCL has made arrangements to take care of this Cyclothon en route through its chain of COCO retail outlets on North-South corridor of NH 44. Others who were present on the occasion were Dr Asha Menon, Dr S. Kumudhavalli, Abhay Khetani, Piyush Avalani, C A Gunvant Rachch, Sanjay Patil.
