Address root cause of conflict
11/22/2019 9:45:25 PM
The Government of India is projecting reorganization of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir into Union Territory as a move towards pulling the J&K out of the quagmire of uncertainty.
Since the day Jammu & Kashmir has been bifurcated into two Union Territories-J&K and Ladakh- our leaders have been claiming that all the issues in Kashmir have been resolved. But it seems that they are ignoring the basic fact that biggest problem which Kashmir has been facing is Pakistan which has been sending terrorists into J&K for the past 30 years and keeps on harping that Kashmir is an issue and needs to be resolved. It has been nearly four months since the day J&K has been reorganized but Pakistan is finding it hard to digest it. People of Kashmir nearly after 100 days of enforced shut down opened their shops on November 16 and public transport appeared on the roads. But Pakistan activated its agents in the Valley and directed them to ensure that people don't resume their daily chores. During the past two days, a few shops, handcarts of vendors and a Tavera vehicle have been set ablaze in Srinagar's old city and in the outskirts. Threat posters have appeared in different parts of Kashmir asking people not to resume their daily activities. Now, Pakistan has started using common people to keep the conflict alive. It is out to make people of Kashmir suffer by snatching their livelihood and is trying to turn them into a cannon fodder to fight its own proxy war.
Our leaders need to take note of how much Pakistan has stooped down. Today it is not allowing people in Kashmir to work, tomorrow it can reach Jammu also. If our country wants to resolve all the conflicts then we'll have to address the root cause i.e Pakistan. Our neighbour is the biggest source of nuisance and it is fallen completely into the hands of terrorists, who only want to spread terror and destruction in the South Asia.
Our leaders will have to think beyond surgical strikes and the Balakot air-strikes. Pakistan is refusing to mend its ways despite stern warnings and messages. It looks like that time is coming near to take decisive call. The time to fight the final war against terror is coming closer and prolonging it would mean giving a chance to enemy. Pakistani leaders have been screaming war, war and war. Now, time has come to make them taste the dose of their own medicine.
