Jammu, Nov 22: The Central University of Jammu (CUJ) today conducted its 12th Academic Council meeting at its main campus Rahya-Suchani.
The AC meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima while Prof. Sushma Yadhav, Vice-Chancellor, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Haryana, Prof. R.N.K. Bamzai, Former Vice-Chancellor, Shri Manta Vaishno Devi University & School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Prof. Pulin B. Nayak, former Chairman, Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and Dhananjay Singh, Director General-National HRD Network were present as members. During the meeting total 12 agenda items placed before the academic council and after threadbare discussion the agenda were approved.
To pursue a report about the developmental activities in the University since the last meeting of Academic Council held on 25th March 2019. To consider confirmation of Minutes of the 11th meeting of Academic Council held on 25th March 2019. To consider "Action Taken Report" in pursuance of the decisions taken in the Academic Council meeting held on 25th March 2019. To confirm the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in having authorized adoption of the syllabi and courses of study of Master's Degree Programmes, in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council.
To confirm the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in having authorized adoption of the syllabi and courses of study of Master's Degree Programmes, in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council. To start a Master Degree Programme in Yoga in the Central University of Jammu. To introduce four new programmes of study in the Department of Environmental Sciences. To consider reservation of one Supernumerary seat for Industry Sponsored candidates in various courses offered by the University To consider fee structure for Self Financing seats in different courses offered by the University w.e.f. the academic year 2019-20. To consider the Creation of Regular Faculty Positions in Science departments. To consider the disciplinary case during Academic Council Meeting and to introduce a one-year diploma in Ancient Indian Scripts: Brahmi and Sharda were the agenda items discussed and approved by the 12th Academic Council Meeting. The Heads and Deans of teaching departments, Registrar Central University of Jammu Dr Ravi Kumar were present in the meeting.
