Kashmir-centric VIP netas need 5-star facilities in jail
11/22/2019 10:04:15 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 22: Detained Kashmir-centric leaders, who were recently shifted from posh Centaur Hotel to MLA Hostel in Srinagar are reportedly unhappy with the facilities being provided to them.
Relatives of VIP netas, who met them for the first time after these leaders were shifted from the Centaur Hotel raised hue and cry about their kith and kin not having proper facilities.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said," It seems someone needs to tell these detained leaders that they are not on a picnic. They are under detention and they are no more VIPs. They are just ordinary detainees who have been kept under detention to ensure that peace prevails in the Valley. They are threat to law and order."
He said," The detained Kashmir-centric leaders till August 5 were given all the privileges by the Government of India. They had been provided with posh bungalows, cars, security and everything only for one reason that they were in the mainstream. They lost everything for falling into the trap of separatists in toeing the line of Pakistan."
The analyst said that these leaders were warned on many occasions that they should not cross the line.
"But they never took the warning seriously and kept on advocating the cause of Pakistan. In jail, they are asking for heating gadgets and other facilities. It seems they are still under the illusion that they can dictate terms and the Government of India will once again put them in driver's seat. It seems that someone needs to tell them that they have become a history and no one is waiting for them to come out of the jail," he added.
An observer said that the leaders who are under detention at MLA Hostel in Srinagar had no idea about the winter season in Kashmir as they used to leave the Valley just before the onset of winter and return in Spring season.
"Many of them it seems will be experiencing the winter in Kashmir like an ordinary man for the first time as these leaders used to believe that they are born to rule and the common people are their subjects, who can be left to fend for themselves in difficult times," the observer added.
He said," The detained leaders should thank their stars that they have been kept in MLA Hostel and have been provided separate rooms. Had they preached separatism in any other country including Pakistan they would have been kept in dark cells and in designated jails."
