People accuse Revenue Deptt for manipulating official records

Poonch, Nov 30: People of Poonch district accused officials of the Revenue Department for manipulating official records in favour of their near and dears due to the people have been facing great hardship for last many months but the senior officials has completely failed to curb the practices so far.
Recently, a case of record tempering has been reported in Poonch town in which reveneue record of a woman was tempered and it has not been corrected y the officials so far deppiste repeated requests. "Till date my record has not been corrected and nothing has been done when the matter brought into the notice of seniors. But this is also not worked and approached a person who demanded money to correct the records but she denied,"she alleged.
People said that there were a number of cases in the Poonch, Mandi, Mendhar, Surankote, where the concerned Patwaris have tampered the documents of the peoples' lands. A group of touts is working, on the directions of the above said officials of the Revenue Department, which is demands commission for competing works.
Peoplealso told that the matter was taken up with concerned authorities and made them aware but no one has dared to take action against allegedly Patwaris or Garadwars.
People alleged that a nexus has been running between above said officials and higher ups of the same department thats why no action has been taken so far.
People demanded Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir that action should be taken against such people who are looting the poor people
When contacted to ACR Poonch, he said that this matter has come my Knowledge we will investigate this matter if strict action will be taken against those employees.
