Hindutvawadi Uddhav Ke Secularwadi Sarkar

Omkar Dattatray

Shiv Sena has framed a coalition government with its staunch bitter opponents of NCP and congress and in the process has completely changed its Hindutva face.Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena has taken oath as the 18th chief minister of Maharashtra and this oath taking as the CM is against the philosophy of its founder Hindu Hardy Samrat Late Shri Bala Sahib Thackeray who had said that he would never occupy the post of CM and would be away from the power politics. But now his son Uddhav has embraced the chief ministership and has gone against the tenets and the principles of his revered father who is the founder of the SS. On this greed for chair Balasahib Thackery will be angry in the heaven .Uddhav has not only gone against the principles of his father but has compromised the philosophy and ideology of the party at the altar of power politics .For the sake of chair the Hindutvawadi Uddhav has over night turned secularist and has given a goodbye to Hindutva ideology .It seems a complete u-tern of the SS for the sake of power .He has aligned with such parties which are opposite to the SSs thought of Hindutva and aligning with congress and NCP amounts to the ideological bankruptcy of the SS.The SSs alliance with congress and NCP is insult to the mandate of the people who have voted for BJP-SS alliance but the SS has gone against the clear mandate of the Maharashtrains and for this the people of the state will not forgive him. The alliance with its political opponents of congress and NCP is nothing but can be safely be termed as opportunistic politics. The coalition government will work on the basis of common minimum agenda and the agenda of SS is consigned to dust bin and this coalition is the marriage of convenience and compulsion and is the alliance of the opposite forces .Now the opposite and strong critics have become friends for the greed of chair and for keeping BJP away from power ,it has to be seen as how will the Uddhav government deliver and how will it work in the interest of the farmers and the downtrodden people .Though Uddhav is the CM of the state but the remote control of the government will be in the hands of NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi and the CM will have to please two bosses if he wants to remain in power .The coalition is not of the similar parties but of those who are ideologically different .It is strange that there is no mention of Veer Savakar in the common minimum programme and this is the effect of the secular u-ternof the party .The SS has become like secularist congress and NCP and there is no difference between the SS and the parties it has aligned with only for power. The Hindutva image of SS has now undergone a complete change and it has coloured itself in the secular colour .Thus SS is now no longer a saffron party as it has aligned with the secularists and those who exhort minorityism and in the process has become secular. The SS and its head Uddhav has compromised with the principles and philosophy of Hindutva and has become secular..The bitter critics and opponents have come together and seems to have sunk their differences for sharing power and keeping BJP at bay. One fails to understand how has the Hindutva tag of SS disappeared in the power opium as it has intoxicated the staunch followers of Hindutva and they have decided to rest in the lap of the secularists and have themselves become secularists and the Hindutva has been buried.Where is the SSs love for Hindu cause and where has its stand for Ram temple gone.Again is the SSs stand for uniform civil code and Hindu Rashtra and all these principles been sacrificed for the greed of chair and it is obvious that the chair is more sacred to SS than its philosophy of Hindutva. In short this opportunistic alliance of the SS with the secularists of congress and NCP can at best be called secularization of the Hindutvawadies. The coalition government has been sworn and it is to be seen how will it work as there is every likelihood that the government will driven by the three parties into opposite directions and Uddhav will have to make a tight rope walk. Uddhav took oath donning a saffron dress but pledged to uphold secular values and secularism and thus the apprences are deceptive. Outwardly he still stands for the theme of Hindutva but in actual compromised his thought and ideology of Hindutva for sharing the loaves of power and this is neither good for the SS nor for the people of Maharashtra .The common minimum programme announced by the trio of SS,NCP and congress having diametrically opposite ideologies pledged to uphold secular values enshrined in the constitution. This marks a complete u-tern of the ideology of Hindutva.
