Early Times Report
anantnag, Nov 30: The state affairs of in newly established Government Medical College Anantnag (GMC) can be established from the fact that Video endoscope facility continues to remain dysfunctional in its Associated Hospital.
According to sources, the Video endoscope has developed a snag some three months ago and since then the Medical College authorities haven't initiated effective measures for getting the facility repaired.
The Video endoscope was installed in Anantnag District Hospital (Now Associate Hospital of Anantnag Medical College) in year 2015 by M/S Olympus Medical System Pvt Ltd. "The company had then agreed to repair the facility whenever it develops any sang, however this time they haven't turned up despite requests were made to them through emails," sources revealed.
They claimed that the top authorities of Medical College were also not putting pressure on the company despite the fact that the GMC Anantnag has issued postdated cheques in favor of the company and assured the company that balance amount of Rs 361923 will be paid.
The acute shortage of video endoscope is forcing the attendants of the patients to rush to the private labs for performing tests who charge heft amounts from them.
"One fails to understand for what purpose they have established the medical college. The facilities hasn't been upgraded since the day District Hospital Anantnag was declared as Associate Hospital of Anantnag Medical College," Anantnag residents told Early Times.
They said that instead of providing facilities to the hospital, huge amounts are being diverted and Hospital authorities are being directed to deposit that money in government exchequer.
The Associate Hospital of Anantnag Medical College is also doesn't have heating system facility as the central heating system installed around four years ago continues to remain dysfunctional.
Medical Superintendent Anantnag District Hospital told Early Times that they have written to the concerned company and hopefully the video endoscope machine will be repaired very soon
