Two chain snatchers arrested

Samba, Nov 30: District Police Samba today solved chain snatching case and arrested three persons including two chain snatchers operating in the area and recovered golden chain weighing 22.50 grams from their possession. According to Police Spokesman, on 30.09.2019, one lady namely Lalita Devi had lodged a written report at Police Station Vijaypur that two unknown bikers coming from Bari Brahmana side going towards Vijaypur side snatched her golden chain at Jakh chowk Vijaypur and fled away from the spot.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR No. 150/2019 U/S 382/201/411 RPC was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, two suspects were detained who on sustained interrogation confessed their involvement in the said chain-snatching incident.
They have been identified as Sanjeev Singh son of Jagdish Singh resident of Charli, Bishnah and Vikrant Singh son of Ashok Singh resident of Gurha Slathia, Vijaypur. On their disclosure, a snatched golden chain was recovered. However the motorcycle without Regd. No. used in the commission of said offense has already been seized in a different case registered at P/S Vijaypur.
Moreover, one jeweler namely Deepak Kumar from Samba who used to purchase stolen and snatched gold items from the said accused persons was also arrested on their disclosure. The recovered golden chain has been handed over to its owner.
