11/30/2019 11:35:27 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 30: As prices of essential commodities especially onion prices shot up further, large number of Mahila Congress activists, on Saturday, led by President Pradesh Mahila Congress and ex-MLA Indu. Pawar, held a massive demonstration against BJP led Central government. The protesting Mahila Congress workers said that the Central governments were responsible for the price rise. A large number of women also participated in the demonstration. Addressing the agitated workers Indu Pawar said, "Now onion is selling at over Rs 100 per kg and BJP Governments is unmoved by the plight of the people." She reminded that before 2014 general elections, BJP used to hold protest against price rise but now the same BJP has maintained a criminal silence on compounding woes of the common masses.
Pawar further regretted that every section of the society is bearing brunt of anti-poor policies of Narendra Modi led government at the Centre. She said instead of addressing genuine issues of the masses, BJP leaders were unnecessarily stroking controversies by highly provocative statements only to div on of the masses towards total failure arkar. She made a reference towards highly can o emnable statement made by controversial BJP MP Pragya Thakur. She said that it was game-plan of BJP leadership to allow such leaders to give provocative statements in the Parliament to divert attention of the people because Union Government has failed to check rise of the prices of essential commodities. She further said Mahila Congress plans to start a district-wise protest rally all over State to protest against the economic policies of the Modi Government, especially the rising unemployment rate. Other who spokes on the occasion are Vandana Makhnotra, Suman Choudhary,Reeta Kanojia, Sunita Rajput, Shalini & others.
