Mass awareness key to success of welfare schemes: Jugal Kishore

Jammu, Nov 30: Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma today emphasised that awareness about the social security and welfare schemes launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is prerequisite for taking the benefits to the targeted sections of the society.
The MP was speaking at an awareness programme organized here by the Labour & Employment department about the pension schemes- Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) and National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons.
He emphasised that it is the prime concern of our Prime Minister that every deserving person gets benefited from such schemes. He said that to realise this dream of our PM a team effort by all of us should be made.
Elaborating, he said that under PM-SYM scheme unorganised workers mostly engaged as home based workers, street vendors and others whose monthly income is less than Rs 15,000/ are eligible to receive pension.
He said that workers from 18-40 years of age will have to make monthly contributions ranging between Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month till they attain the age of 60 and there upon receive a monthly pension of Rs 3000/month for their life time.
He further informed that traders, who are self-employed and whose annual turnover does not exceed Rs 1.5 crore are eligible to get benefit under National Pension Scheme for Traders and Self Employed Persons.
