National Workshop on Data Analytics through R concludes

Jammu, Nov 30: The Valedictory Function of the National Workshop on Data Analytics through R was held in the conference hall of the Department of Statistics, University of Jammu on Saturday.
The workshop was held for one week with effect from Nov. 25 to Nov. 30, 2019. About 85 participants from different parts of the country including Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh besides Jammu and Kashmir participated in the workshop.
Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Prof. Shalabh, IIT Kanpur, the Resource Person was the Guest of Honour. Among other dignitaries were Prof. Jigar Mohammed, former DRS, Prof Rahul Gupta, Director, HRDC, Prof. K S Charak , Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Dr. Satinder Kumar, Dr Sunil Kumar, Dr V K Shivgotra and Dr Parmil Kumar.
At the outset of the valedictory function HoD Prof. Pawan Kumar informed the Vice-Chancellor about the proceedings of the workshop and shared the importance of such workshops for young faculty members and researchers. Prof. Shalabh, the resource person for this workshop emphasized upon the importance and essentiality of the software R as a research tool for multidisciplinary research. Prof. Manoj K Dhar, University of Jammu expressed his views about the requirement of such statistical and computing tools in the present scenario to carry out high dimensional qualitative and quantitative research. He addressed the participants of the workshop and congratulated the Department of Statistics for holding such an informative and important workshop and highlighted the a significant role of played by computational techniques in the research across the globe.
