SMVD Shrine Board, BYS organise Yoga event, workshop on stress management

Katra, Dec 2: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in collaboration with Bharatiya Yog Sansthan organised a workshop on stress management besides yoga event at Katra today.
A large number of yoga enthusiasts, employees of the Shrine Board and their family members, pilgrims, students of Gurukul and various other educational institutions participated in the stress management workshop as well as the yoga event.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Simrandeep Singh spoke about the benefits of yoga, particularly in living a healthy and stress-free life. He complimented the Bharatiya Yog Sansthan in collaborating with the Shrine Board for organising the workshop and the yoga event. He also thanked the Yog Sansthan for imparting training to some of the employees of the Shrine Board in yoga and meditation, who are now conducting free yoga and meditation classes, as in-house resource persons, at the Shrine Board's Sports Complex at Katra for the benefit of the Board employees and the people of the area.
Des Raj, National General Secretary, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, New Delhi extensively threw light on the causes of stress and gave some tips in regard to stress management for living a stress-free life. He also dwelt on the benefits of yoga in living a healthy and happy life. He congratulated the Shrine Board for starting yoga centre at its Sports Complex at Katra as well as providing the best possible facilities to the pilgrims visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
Dr. Arvind Karwani, Dy. CEO of the Shrine Board presented vote of thanks while Jia Lal Sharma, Secretary, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Jammu conducted the proceedings of the yoga event.
