JKNPP calls for Jammu bandh against new toll plaza on Dec 7
12/2/2019 10:05:56 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 2: Accusing the government of suppressing the aspirations of people of Jammu region, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and former Minister Harsh Dev Singh on Monday called for a Jammu bandh on December 7, to protest against the blockade of mobile internet services and government's move of opening new Toll Plazas in Jammu and its vicinity.
''It is an insult to the people of Jammu, who were subjected to Internet gag and communication blockade on the plea of its misuse for anti-national activities. Our patriotism is time-tested. Do not suspect the nationalist Dogras. Stop humiliating the people of Jammu by distrusting them,'' Mr Singh told reporters at a press conference here.
He further said the nationalist people of Jammu have stood with the nation at all times and against all odds and had been seeking the complete integration of J&K with the Indian Union, much before the passage of Reorganisation Act and consequent abrogation of Article 370, which fructified on August 5.
Further pointing towards the new Toll Plazas installed and also proposed for installation in Jammu and its vicinity, Mr Singh said the City of Temples was being converted into a City of Toll Plazas.
''BJP leadership had promised to wind up the Sarore Toll Plaza, with its State President assuring the people that he would bulldoze the structure, in case the Centre did not respond.
''We appeal to the people to participate in the peaceful bandh on December 7, to ventilate anger against the authoritarian moves of the government,'' added the Panther Party leader.
