8 child Scientists selected to represent Jammu at Kerala

Jammu, Dec 2: The State Level Project Presentation of 27th National Children Science Congress 2019, which was being organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS) Jammu in Jodhamal Public School concluded today with the selection of eight projects for National level NCSC scheduled to be held at Trivandrum Kerala from 27th - 31st Dec. 2019. The Program is being supported and catalyzed by NCSTC and Department of science and technology (DST) Govt. of India, New Delhi. In the Program 52 Shools of different Districts of Jammu Division, presented their Science based projects, out of these eight best projects were selected who will be representing Jammu Division at National level NCSC.
The valedictory function was presided over by Vikas Sharma Professor and Head Division of Soil Science & Agriculture SKUAST Jammu whereas Nandan Kuthalia Trustee Jodhamal Public School, Dr. Deep Khare Principal JPS were the guest of honour. In his presedential address Dr. Vikas Sharma added that modern age is an age of science and technology and at this juncture of time there is dire need to inculcate scientific temperament among the students and teachers and National Children Science Congress is one such program which is doing a tremendous job in this regard. While lauding the efforts of all the child scientists for presenting their projects he congratulated the selected child scientists and extended best wishes for national Level. Nandan Kuthalia Trustee Jodhamal Public School in his address lauded the efforts of Z. U. Khan and team NCURDS for their efforts in taking science beyond the class room thereby assisting the students in experiencing science practically which in future can benefit them in deciding their carrier in the field of Science. He further extended a helping hand to the NCURDS for organizing more such programs in future for the benefit of students and teachers.
At the end of the programme, Zaffar Ullah Khan (Founder Secretary NCURDS) thanked management & the volunteers from Jodhamal Public School who helped in coordinating & organizing the event effectively & smoothly.
Dr. Ashiq Hussain, Chairman NCSC & Sh. Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator, NCSC Jammu after presenting a brief report of the two day even briefed the selected child scientists about the rules & regulations for appearing in National Children Science Congress, later.
The selected child scientists who will be participating at National Level include Insha Ashiq of Himalayan Educational Club, Kishtwar, Savvy of Galaxy Science club - SOS Hermann Gmenier, School, Jammu, Ihita Gupta of B.S.F Sr. Sec. School, Jammu, Pragya Sharma of D.A.V. Collegiate School, Kathua, Srishti Manva of Jodhamal Public School, Jammu, Shivohum Pandita of Air Force School, Jammu, Sonia Sharma of Govt Hr. Sec. School, Chak Rakwal, Udhampur & Mohammad Anzar Qazi of Govt. Model hr. Sec. School, Udhampur.
